J.R. Smith’s Dirty Foul On Al Horford

The Cleveland Cavaliers fell apart in the second half last night, dropping Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals in Boston. Cleveland led by seven at halftime before losing by 13.

No one symbolized the Cavs’ collapse like J.R. Smith. Smith didn’t score a point in 27 minutes, shooting 0-for-7 from the field. More importantly, he was involved in a controversial play late.

With the Cavs down eight and less than four minutes remaining, Smith was called for a blatant flagrant foul on the Celtics’ Al Horford. He shoved the big man in the back as he was going up for a lob.

Smith wasn’t ejected, but he did draw the ire of Horford’s sister on social media.

After the game, Smith admitted he deserved the flagrant.

Two decades earlier, there might have been a brawl after that foul. Smith is lucky.
