Get Your Piece of the Pie - File the FAFSA

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid and it is your ticket to receiving grants, scholarships and work study to go to college.

To encourage students to complete the FAFSA, we are partnering with the Colorado Department of Education to provide information, materials and resources to high schools, students and parents across the State.FAFSA ticket 2019-20

Understand how FAFSA Works

File the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1 of your senior year in high school. Even if you are not sure whether you will need aid or will attend a college, you should still complete the FAFSA!

You can now file the FAFSA using your smartphone. The My Student Aid free app is available in the Apple App Store or via Google Play.

As you file the FAFSA, we recommend you download and complete our Paying for College Worksheet. It will keep financial aid information handy and includes fillable checklists to help families stay on top of filing requirements.

Once you File your FAFSA

Once you have filed your FAFSA electronically, in a few days you will receive an electronic Student Aid Report (SAR). Read it and follow the instructions on the SAR. The colleges you listed will also receive your Report, so watch for correspondence from them too.

Use this handy tool to compare college costs and financial aid offers you will receive from colleges.
